Happy December!!!

Hi everyone, guess what, it’s December! The most wonderful time of the year. I love December because everyone is so happy and cheerful. Another reason I like December is because its my birthday month. What is your favorite part of December? Make sure to tell me in the comments! Today I would like to share a poem I wrote in school.

The Christmas Tree

By: Mia Nadeau

I’ve heard of the tales

Of trees who have been chopped down and taken

It's my turn now

I lie on the top of a moving vehicle

All tied up

Am I a hostage?

The vehicle stops

I get untied and carried into a stuffy room

Its hot

Its tiny

I stand tall now

Almost bumping my head

They pile heavy glitter bombs all over me

A star rests on my head

This is too heavy!!

I’m as hot the sun

I’m too big for this room

And these ornaments are as HEAVY as an elephant

I stand like this for days

And days

And days

A little girl comes and spares me from all the heavy ornaments

Wow I feel so much lighter

A man comes an carries me outside

I feel so much cooler

A women comes and plants me in their yard

Wow there is so much space

Wait!

I see other trees next to me

They are trees from other years

Among them is my mother who I haven’t seen in years

All of the things I went through to get planted out here

Heat

Weight

Space

We’re all worth it when I got to see my mom

I hope you enjoyed my poem! Merry Christmas! 🎄
